Reputable assemblers and platforms offer a workmanship guarantee — commonly 30 days to 1 year — covering re-tightening, alignment, and errors. It does not cover material defects (retailer's problem) or damage from moving the item afterwards. Ask what the guarantee covers and how to claim before booking.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the slot is the market norm on platforms; independents vary. Expect to pay a call-out equivalent if you cancel when the assembler is already traveling. If your delivery date is uncertain, say so — many assemblers will hold a tentative slot rather than a firm one.

Most do, and for tall items you should insist on it: wardrobes, bookcases, and chests of drawers come with anti-tip straps or brackets that manufacturers require attaching to the wall. Confirm wall-anchoring is included in the quote and that the assembler checks wall type (drywall vs masonry vs concrete) — anchoring into concrete or tile may carry a drilling surcharge.

Tipping is optional everywhere and uncommon outside North America. What you should expect to pay for: stair-carry of heavy boxes where there is no lift (agree upfront), paid parking where unavoidable, and disposal of packaging if you want it taken away. All of these should be named in the quote, not appear afterwards.

Separate handyman hires run ₱500-₱1,500 per visit for one or two items, or ₱300-₱600 per hour. IKEA Pasay offers assembly service per item on delivered orders. Provincial rates are lower but assembler availability outside Metro Manila/Cebu is thin — retailer delivery-with-assembly is often the practical choice.

Most buildings require a work permit filed 1-2 days ahead, a gate pass listing the worker's name and ID, and sometimes a small permit fee or refundable deposit. Drilling is usually restricted to weekday daytime hours. Book the permit before the furniture delivery date.
