A reputable repairer warrants both parts and labor — typically 3-12 months. Manufacturer parts usually carry 12 months. Get the warranty in writing on the invoice; a repairer who won't warranty their work is a red flag.

Burning smells, tripping breakers, sparking sockets, a gas smell from a cooker, and a dryer that gets very hot or has a blocked vent. Unplug the appliance (or shut the gas valve) and stop using it until it's inspected. Water leaks near electrics also warrant switching off the circuit.

Diagnosis takes 20-45 minutes. If the part is on the van, most repairs finish in under 90 minutes. If a part must be ordered, expect a second visit 2-10 days later; ask whether the second visit incurs another call-out fee (it usually shouldn't).

Inspection/transport fees run RM50-RM150 in the Klang Valley (often waived on repair), with common washing machine or fridge repairs totalling RM150-RM500 including parts. Compressor or PCB jobs at RM600+ usually justify pricing a new unit, given frequent retail promotions.

Under warranty, use the brand's authorised centre — independent repairs void coverage. Out of warranty, home-service techs are cheaper and faster; verify the business is SSM-registered, get the quote in WhatsApp writing, and insist on a 30-90 day workmanship warranty.
